Have you ever felt void of passion? Wondering, what am I passionate about anyway? You have a career that you like well enough and you do it well enough, but you don't really know how to advance in it. You can't really pitch what you do, because, while you like the work, you don't feel the passion.
Have you come across successful people, talking about "living your passion"? But you have no idea where to begin! What are you passionate about? Well, you are told, "it's the things you would do, even if you didn't get paid to do them"; "it's the activities you get lost in for hours"; "it's the things you always find time for"; or "it's the things nobody has to tell you to do". But is that really true for all of us?
Do you ever start having a thought about what might be needed for you to really feel fulfilled, just to get interrupted a flood of thoughts that remind you of all the worldly s*** you have to take care of? Did you ever work your tail off, not getting paid and you know that's not because you're passionate about it, but because someone took advantage of you? And you do it again? Did you ever get into "flow" going through every minute detail in a work assignment and spending a whole day on it ... what they call getting lost in the task. It happens, doesn't it? But does that really mean this task was your passion?
Do you have a lot of things on your "want to do" list that you never find time for? Is that, because those things are really unimportant to you? Or could it be that EVERYTHING else is draining the life out of you, but you HAVE TO take care of these other things ... or at least feel like you have to?
These are some questions I'm exploring in the next little while.
